Anne Frank is one of the most famous /

in the Holocaust. Her diary is seen as a classic in war literature today. Anne was born in Frankfurt am Main. The Frank family moved to Am- sterdam in 1933. This was the same year the Nazis grew / were growing powerful in Germany. In the Netherlands, Anne was officially seen as a German until 1941. By 1942, the Nazis had become more powerpul than the years before and the family was afraid of being arrested so they decided to hide. They hid in the secret rooms of her father´s office building. After two years they were found and taken to concentration camps where Anne and her sister died in 1945. Her father was the only person of the family who / that survived. He found Anne´s diary and helped to print it in 1947. Since then it has been translated into many languages.
